Christmas events in St Ives
There was definitely the twinkle of Christmas spirit in St Ives on Friday as hundreds of children, their families and spectators enjoyed the Twinkle Twinkle Procession which wound around the streets of the town accompanied by singing, jingling bells and music. There was a buzz of excitement throughout the streets as the procession weaved its way around the town, bringing smiles to late night shoppers and a magical air of fun.
The procession featured lanterns which had been crafted by the children themselves – adding to the fun of taking part in this event which had been organised by a local mum and artist, Joanna Mayes.
Choirs from St Uny and St Ives Infant School sang carols outside the parish church at the end of the procession, before people took the chance to enjoy a walk around the town to see the beautiful Christmas Lights around the harbour and throughout the streets of the town, and making the most of the late night shopping to buy Christmas gifts.
