The Town Council are in discussions with Cornwall Council about the future use of the Guildhall, St Ives, with the intention of bringing the hall into greater use for the benefit and enjoyment of the community and visitors alike. Whether for concerts, plays, functions or parties, there are a wide range of uses for this community venue which includes a concert hall (with stage, backstage area and can seat 395 people), function room and meeting room.
An Open Day in January gave individuals and organisations to look around the building and to express interest in using the hall in future. Some ideas already suggested include barn dances, markets, rehearsal space, youth activities, community events, fundraisers for local organisations and plays.
