A small crown gathered on Friday 2nd December for the 2011 Christmas Lights Switch-On event, braving the cold, rain and wind. Carols around the tree were accompanied by St Ives Concert Band and the singing of the Kruners. The lights were switched on by Town Mayor, Councillor Ron Tulley who was pleased to have also switched on the lights in Lelant and Carbis Bay earlier in the week.
On Wednesday the switching-on of the Christmas Lights in Carbis Bay had been followed by a carol concert in Carbis Bay Wesley Church, and in Lelant the switch-on marked the return of the beautiful white Christmas light displays with the event on Thursday evening accompanied by festivities at the Badger Inn”.
